Jessica Rowe has worked for all the commercial TV stations, including a decade-long stint as newsreader for the Ten network.

She's also ambassador for the national depression initiative beyondblue. 

Her passion for more education on mental health has partly been driven by growing up with her brilliant mother, who has lived with bipolar disorder all her life.

Despite her activism and experience, Jess found it very hard to own up to her own post natal depression after the birth of her daughter Allegra.

But she did get help, and has put all she has learned in her new book on motherhood with other well-known Australian women.
